GOCO GRANT COMPLETION & RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY
A school playground can be the closest and safest place to play in a community, but often times the playgrounds are outdated and
the equipment is unsafe. Improvements to school playgrounds and outdoor spaces not only create a more engaging and creative
environment for students, but they also serve the greater community. This became a project based learning experience
whereby a group of our students along with input from all students, staff, and families designed this new playground.
In the spring of 2017, our school was granted the Great Outdoors Colorado grant for $110,000 and in the fall of 2019 we saw the completion of this design with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. During this ceremony, we ‘unveiled’ the newest playground structure named ‘THE DOME.’
